Venice day #2

After breakfast at a cafe with exceptional coffee, went on our excellent private tour of a ‘squero’, Venetian term for boatbuilder in a yard which closed in 1920. It’s now home to a charity preserving old boats and traditions. Tried  cicchetti again for lunch: delicious nibbles on warm toast served with local wine at an establishment very popular with locals, Vino Vera.

Walked across to the Arsenale area to visit the Venetian Maritime Museum. Impressive collection of old boats, half-models and several floors of displays and exhibits. Stopped for an evening spritz at a rather expensive hotel, then took the fast water taxi criss-crossing the lagoon back to our part of the city for supper.
